LimitState directors to present on Eurocode 7 and limit analysis at IStructE meeting

On 15 January, LimitState directors, Colin Smith and Matthew Gilbert, are to present to the Institute of Structural Engineers (IStructE) East Midlands Group on the application of limit state methods to Eurocode 7 compliant geotechnical design.

Entitled "From basics of Eurocode 7 to cutting edge Geotechnical design techniques", the presentation will outline the key features of Eurocode 7 before focusing on ultimate limit state design and its application to elements such as foundations and retaining walls. Discontinuity Layout Optimization (DLO), as utilized in LimitState:GEO, will be featured and used to illustrate a number of examples.
