4 key highlights of LimitState:GEO 3.4

1. More informative analyses

  • The adequacy factor is now linked to a dialog that details the parameters that are affected.
  • The MOSEK solver engine has been upgraded.
  • Convergence parameters for the Factor Strength analysis have been tweaked to make typical problems solve in less time.
  • The display of stresses has been extended to include water pressures and effective stresses.

2. Display of strengths and pressures

We've added the ability to visualise the strengths of solids that are affected by user-defined grids of material strength and / or water pressures:

  • Gradients indicate areas of high and low strength.
  • Contours join areas of equal strength / pressure.
  • Hover over a solid to query the strength or pressure at that point.

3. Improved DXF handling

Importing and handling DXF files has been made even more intuitive:

  • Import dialog now provides information on file properties such as units, bounding box etc.
  • Warnings are given where the geometry may be scaled or positioned incorrectly, with the option to fix these on import.
  • More information is provided for the user, such as when a file contains 'islands' that will not be recognised by the software

4. More drawing features

  • Allow adding multiple vertices in one step by holding Ctrl/Cmd down.
  • Allow creation of new vertices at intersection between boundaries and construction lines.
  • Improve drawing snaps (making it easier to create e.g. perpendicular intersections).
