Gravity retaining Wall analysis
LimitState:GEO is the ideal tool for analysing the stability of gravity retaining walls. While traditional methods require a predetermined failure type to be specified, the use of Discontinuity Layout Optimization (DLO) means that, with LimitState:GEO, the critical mechanism and associated factor of safety are automatically identified with the click of a button.
The state-of-the-art solver engine will rapidly consider all possible failure modes, including sliding, bearing, overturning and global failure, as well as potential internal failures due e.g. to shear. With the ability to easily incorporate unusual geometries and loading, it is easy to check for other scenarios such as an excavation or surcharge loads.
Gravity walls are checked for all possible failure modes without the need to specify the type or shape in advance.
